Senior appointment offering attractive remuneration. You will assume responsibility for the sourcing of all UK, European and internationally sold products with the main focus of building close partnerships with existing as well as new suppliers resulting in continually reduced costs of goods while meeting established quality standards.  This person will be committed to a philosophy of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, follow-through on new products and innovation to meet the organizations short and long term marketing plans.



Key Results:


• Quarterly and annual sales and profit targets are met.


• Customers experience a high level of service and quality from supplier base.


• New products are brought to market effectively and on time.


• Achieve a significant reduction in cost of goods sold with no increase in inventory levels.


• All new and existing suppliers are measured monthly on service, quality and innovation.



Key Activities:


• Drive for high value from our global suppliers through close collaboration, value engineering and systems evolution while fostering healthy competition.


• Develop, maintain and control global sourcing, supplier selection and negotiation.


• Ensure that the outsource capability can respond to both high and low volume manufacturing and respond within tight lead times whilst striving for continuous profit improvement and supply efficiency.


• Foster a culture within the operations team of customer advocacy with a joined-up global supply chain that meets the customer’s product and delivery dates.


• Create a system that joins-up design, supply, sales, finance and customer service using a cross functional team to successfully launch new products.


• Foster collaboration in areas such as service, quality and value with our global suppliers by holding  quarterly team meetings with key suppliers.


• Implement a quality management process that is owned by our global suppliers and holds them financially responsible.


• Work closely with the Export Director to buy and sell effectively in all countries.


• Manage the end to end annual bidding process and ensure value and competitive pricing.


• Maintain solid communication channels with customer’s services and sales to communicate major changes and initiatives at suppliers.


• Harness horsepower of suppliers to help resource product development.


• Create a solid working relationship with the Design team to create and develop new products for our customers.



Areas of Responsibility:


• All supplier cost negotiations and quality related issues.


• Supplier payment terms.


• Add and maintain a supplier base that provides agility and value.


• Track the performance of suppliers and set targets.


• Source all new products to meet cost and timing goals.

• Deeply committed to customer satisfaction while being equally committed to cost controls.


• Collaborator who brings value of thought and experience to the organization and peers.The position will be based at the head office in Wellingborough but will include both UK and overseas travel.


• A proven background in international planning and purchasing


• Good knowledge of current global trading conditions and raw materials


• Experience in the procurement of raw materials such as wood, metal and acrylic products.


• A proven track record of success against key measurables not least, cost savings.


• Experience within a construction or manufacturing environment


• High level of commercial acumen and an ability to deliver bottom line improvement through proactive purchasing process, change management and cost control.


• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy


• High level of client awareness and focus


• I.T literate with good working knowledge of MS Office.


• Continue to evaluate current suppliers to ensure that you have the right suppliers to grow the business.
