To ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department with particular responsibilities to Inter-Company reconciliations, Payroll, staff supervision, reviewing reconciliations, preparation for the year end and month end reporting.  Ensure that any new software utilized by the MK finance function is configured to suit latest business requirement and is tested to prove integrity.  To retrain the accounts team, including the Assistant Accountant, to serve the changing business and/or corporate requirements with particular focus on the OSA relationships.


Job Specification


- Managing Inter-Company Reconciliations.  Allocate specific OSAs to various members of staff (including self).  Supervise posting all re-charges, purchase invoices and sales invoices onto month end statement and coordinating with other inter-company colleagues to reconcile balances.


- Assist IT with the testing of ERP (includes accounting) & SOP software.


- Manage accounting routines and design improvements thereto.


- Maintain cash flow forecast and ensure cash transfers are dealt with as necessary.


- Supervise payroll, PAYE and VAT systems


- Calculate the monthly accrual for bonus payments.


- Systems Manager for Payroll, EFT, Bank a/c and BACS software.


- Review monthly reconciliations: Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledge, Fixed Asset and Bank.


- Maintain month end close folders to external audit and JSOX standards.


- Ship & Debit – keep monthly reports to estimate possible claims and calculate monthly accrual.


- Complete the Nominal close – producing a P&L Reconciliation, if late journals are entered.


- Power – manage new contracts for Electricity and Gas.


- Insurance – producing details for the renewal of insurance policies.  Making claims as required.


- Corporation Tax – making the quarterly payments and keeping a statement.  Reconciling to the Nominal Ledger on a monthly basis.


- Year End – producing the year end file.  Making sure that the necessary information is in place for the auditors.  Producing the tax estimate and drafting the statutory accounts.


- Maintain Departmental Procedures and Job Descriptions.


- Complete Government Statutory Surveys a timely manner.


- To organize the annual confidential documentation disposal.


- Assist Financial Controller on ad hoc reporting as required.
